Well today was the start of the school holidays for me and all the kids arrived ripping and raring to go this morning.

We didn't get a chance to craft together today bit more of a free play day. So this gave me a chance to join in on a challenge that's happening in a Facebook group I'm apart of.

So the December challenge 1 was to make something with a dimensional flower on it.

I first thought I was going to make flowers for a paper vase I had made a while back but I got into the xmas spirit and thought I would make something to decorate the house with.

So I got out my silhouette and had a search what I could do that was 3d.
What I found was a beautiful triple bow and thought I could add a dimensional poinsettia as my challenge flower.
I made the bow as big as I could on my 12" mat and cut out the 3 pieces needed.

Then cut out my poinsettia pieces at about 5"

I love to ink the edges of dimensional pieces to give it more depth,
so inked the red pieces with my Ranger distress ink - fired brick
and the green piece with
Ranger distress ink - mowed lawn

I then pieced all the pieces together with my atg gun and used dimensional foam under the flower petals. finishing it all off with a yellow diamante brad.

finished bow now hanging pride of place on my front door

This is a great fun way to decorate the house and bring lots of Christmas spirit to the home.. and homemade is always better I think...

Anyway time to head off and get the pork roast on for dinner...yummo!
,
and wonder what next weeks challenge will be ..
